AUSTIN, Texas — Electronics manufacturers can automate more of the process of turning incoming PCB design files into production-ready quotes through a new integration between Boardera Software and Cetec ERP. Boardera uses artificial intelligence to analyze PCB design packages and automate tasks including bill-of-materials scrubbing, component sourcing, labor and material costing and manufacturability review. The new integration connects Boardera with parts inventory in Cetec ERP. That allows the quoting software to account for components a manufacturer already has in inventory rather than requiring employees to manually search the ERP system and transfer that information into the quote. PCB assembly quotes can involve design files, fabrication notes and BOM data that must be organized and reviewed before production costs can be calculated. Quoting teams also need to verify component availability, estimate labor and identify potential manufacturability issues. With the integration, Boardera can use a manufacturer's current inventory data along with its own labor configurations, pricing rules and formulas to perform BOM analysis, component sourcing, labor calculations, PCB pricing and design-for-manufacturability reporting. The companies say the approach can reduce manual data entry and provide earlier visibility into manufacturability concerns before a quote is finalized. “This integration gives EMS companies a practical way to reduce the human touches required to move from an incoming RFQ to a production-ready order in their manufacturing ERP,” said Jordan Jolly of Cetec ERP.
